Ports 4.0 launches its second call for Ideas and Commercial Projects with 6.75 million euros
The deadline for submitting applications is two months for the Ideas program and three months for the Commercial Projects program.
The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published today, October 20th 2021, the second call for Ports 4.0 fund in its Ideas and Commercial Projects programs. This call regulates the concession, by Spanish State Ports, of public aid within the framework of the Plan to Promote Entrepreneurship for Innovation in the Port Sector. The Regulatory Bases of this call are governed by the same ministerial order as the previous call.

The endowment fund of this call is 6,750,000 million euros distributed as follows:
- IDEAS: 750,000 €, which € 105,000 € will go to intrapreneurship. Subsidies for this modality can be requested until December 21st 2021.
- COMMERCIAL PROJECTS: 6,000,000 €. Subsidies for this modality can be requested until January 21st 2022.
Regarding the requirements of Ideas or Commercial Projects presented that may be awarded the aid, they must develop a new product, service, process, or improve an existing technology with a new innovative component developing its application for the logistics-port sector. Candidates must also promote the achievement of measurable advance solutions in one or more areas of port-logistics activity.
These areas are: logistics efficiency in the infrastructural, operational or service provision field, environmental sustainability and energy, security and protection, digitalization of smart processes and platforms and any other innovative product, service or process with an impact on the port logistics sector or the nautical or fishing port sector.
In addition, the Idea or Commercial Project presented must have a certain, demonstrable and clearly delimited innovative component, at least with regard to its scope, contents and costs, as well as not exist, both nationally and internationally, its application for the sector. This innovative component of the applications must represent at least 50% of the total budget, even if this percentage exceeds the funding limits established for each type of program.
