The test was attended and supervised by personnel from Fundación Valenciaport and the Port Authority of Valencia, and was carried out without any incident. The airship was deployed by the company’s personnel at a height of 100 meters, previously coordinated and authorized by ENAIRE. The vehicle is equipped with a gyro-stabilized optical camera for the acquisition of images which are sent in real time to the ground control station. During the flight operation, several activities and areas of the port were monitored, according to the indications of the APV’s personnel, which had been defined in previous phases as use cases of interest for port management.

According to company sources, with this demonstration, SMARTHAPS consolidates its position as the only purely Spanish company that carries out research and development activities in the field of aerostatic systems and stratospheric vehicles, having already provided services to various clients such as the Junta de Andalucía or the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. On the other hand, thanks to the support of Ports 4.0, the field of port applications opens a wide range of growth possibilities for a small company like SMARTHAPS.
