The company Mobility Ion Technologies SL (MION), responsible for the VECTIN project subsidized by the Ports 4.0 Fund of Puertos del Estado, has carried out the final demonstration of the pilot at the facilities of the Port of Valencia and the ID Logistics facilities in the Port of Valencia. The test was attended by representatives of State Ports Innovation, as well as the Port Authority of Valencia, the AEAT, the Civil Guard of Valencia and TARGET Technology.
The VECTIN project, beneficiary of the 2nd call for commercial projects of Ports 4.0, aims to identify the presence of explosives and narcotics and their identification in containers in a non-invasive way through the detection and analysis of the vapors emitted by these substances. The system makes it possible to analyze sealed containers without opening them to detect the presence of substances such as cocaine, tobacco or explosives, prior to their inspection, thus improving risk management and optimizing the operations of customs inspectors and state security forces.
