The company DELONIA SOFTWARE S.L., responsible for the project “SMART MOBILITY ANALYTICS”, subsidized by the Ports 4.0 Fund of Puertos del Estado, has carried out the final demonstration of the project that has been carried out in the facilities of the Port of Barcelona. The test was attended by heads of Innovation of Puertos del Estado, the Port Authority of Barcelona and the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras, along with those responsible for the project by DELONIA SOFTWARE.
The objective of the project is to complete the development of a system based on IoT cameras equipped with computer vision and artificial intelligence, capable of monitoring and analyzing in real time the flows of passengers and means of transport, applying various metrics. This system makes it possible to obtain objective data regarding passenger and vehicle waiting times, as well as the use made of the different spaces within a passenger terminal. The solution enables comprehensive mobility management in any environment and is especially adapted to terminals with particular characteristics in terms of extension and high density of passenger and vehicle flows.
During the execution of the project, DELONIA SOFTWARE has validated the system based on advanced artificial intelligence models based on convolutional neural networks. All this is supported by a modular, flexible, scalable and interoperable architecture, which facilitates its integration with real infrastructures, such as the Ports of Barcelona and Algeciras. In addition, the platform has a robust data storage and processing environment, deployed in a cloud environment. Finally, a complete ecosystem of mobile and web applications has been built to provide passengers, cab drivers and operators with accurate and up-to-date information to optimize decision making.
In short, the solution uses artificial intelligence systems applied to image analysis to measure and manage mobility in a cruise terminal, and can also be extended to other airport and transportation environments with equivalent characteristics, where large volumes of people need to move to different destinations.
After the presentation on the characteristics and particularities of the project execution, the demonstration was carried out, where the functionality of the application deployed in the facilities of the Port of Barcelona was checked. In addition, a virtual demonstration was also carried out on videos obtained at the Port of Algeciras.
