The Puertos 4.0 fund of Puertos del Estado and the Port Authorities have published a new call for grants for Business Ideas and Projects, with an endowment of 6,750,000 euros. This initiative aims to attract, support and facilitate innovation in the logistics-port sector, through the promotion of disruptive technologies and the improvement of processes, products and services in this area.
For the Ideas modality, 750,000 euros will be allocated, while 6,000,000 euros will be earmarked for Commercial Projects.
With this new call, the Ports 4.0 Fund reinforces its commitment to the technological transformation of the sector, activating both public and private investment. The grants are aimed at financing projects that introduce technological or applied innovations, generating added value for the Spanish port ecosystem.
The current call will be open for a period of two months for Ideas and three months for Commercial Projects, counting from December 31, allowing companies and industry groups to submit their proposals through the electronic headquarters of Puertos del Estado.
You can consult the Rules and Regulations of the call for applications here.
Since the launch of the Ports 4.0 fund in 2020, more than 215 innovative ideas and projects have already been financed in the three categories (Ideas, Commercial Projects and Pre-commercial Projects), out of more than 900 applications submitted, with 47 million euros.
The call launched today is expected to be joined by another one in 2026 for Pre-commercial Projects for 11,250,000 euros, in compliance with what was approved by the Distribution Committee of the Interport Compensation Fund at its October meeting.
The Ports 4.0 fund is consolidated as a key tool for the development of innovation in maritime transport and port logistics in Spain, contributing to its international competitiveness.
The deadline for grant applications under the Ideas category is March 2, 2026 and for grant applications under the Commercial Projects category is March 31, 2026.
