The companies Sensia Solutions and Fundación ValenciaPort, responsible for the PERSEO project (Providing Ship Emission Measurements in Real Time During Ship Operations at Ports), subsidized by the Ports 4.0 Fund of Puertos del Estado, have carried out the final demonstration of the pilot at the facilities of the Port of Valencia. The test was attended by representatives of Ports 4.0 of Puertos del Estado, as well as the Port Authority of Valencia.

The objective of the project is the development of specialized services that allow to know the amount and type of emissions that each of the transport elements of a port facility produces in order to contribute to the total decarbonization of the ports of general interest of the Spanish port system. To this end, it has developed an improved High Sensitivity Multispectral Imaging System (SIMAS), based on 5 high sensitivity cameras, each one optimized in the detection and quantification of a type of gas (CO2, HC, SOx and NOx) and the quantification of the opacity of the plume coming from the combustion of ships, vehicles, machinery or other types of combustion. These inspections and measurement campaigns will make it possible to identify the most polluting elements in the ports, incorporating these measures into a complete inventory of emissions.

During the course of the project, experimental measurement campaigns were carried out through the installation of measurement stations in the ports of Valencia, Sagunto and Gandía. The project consists of tools for measuring the composition of emissions, as well as for their evaluation and quantification, and a platform for sharing data with public administrations.

After the presentation, the process of selecting points on the images for quantification was demonstrated in the SaaS and dumped into the other product for data analysis.

Finally, a visit was made to the physical installation of the device in the hammer of the port of Valencia, from where the acquisition of an intake from a vessel moored in port was observed live.
