The Society for Economic Promotion of Gran Canaria (SPEGC), an entity under the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, together with the Port Authority of Las Palmas and the Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands (CMC), present the Ports 4.0 Support Programto promote innovative pre-commercial projects in the port-logistics field.

The call of Puertos del Estado finances, with a grant of up to 60% of the budget of the innovation component of the project, with a minimum of 50,000 euros and a maximum of 1,000,000 euros. This is the second call of this type and is open to projects that introduce innovative elements in the port-logistic value chain, including six fundamental axes of application.

The Support Program, aimed at Canary Islands companies or companies that want to collaborate with Canary Islands facilitating agents, aims to encourage the submission of proposals to the Ports 4.0 call for pre-commercial proposals to the Ports 4.0 call for pre-commercial projects, before June 13.before June 13.

To this end, the program combines two months of training and individualized mentoring in critical aspects for improving the conceptual quality and feasibility of proposals, as well as support in the search for industrial partners in the Port of Las Palmas and outreach sessions between the promoters of pre-commercial projects and potential facilitating agents in the port environment of Gran Canaria. To this end, consultants specialized in the drafting of proposals for funding calls and experts from SPEGC, the Port Authority of Las Palmas and CMC have been selected.

And to publicize the Support Program and the Ports 4.0 call itself, on April 27th a conference was held on the “Opportunities and advantages of Gran Canaria for the development of innovative projects in the port area”.The event included interventions by Puertos del Estado, explaining the details of Ports 4.0, presentations on the support offered by local entities to the port-logistic sector, as well as a round table of local projects that have been presented to the different modalities of the call: Ideas, Pre-commercial and Commercial.
