The group of companies composed by SIMBIOSYSTEMS SL, SIGNAL SOFTWARE SL, UBIQWARE STUDIO SLU, and SOCIEDAD DE SALVAMENTO Y SEGURIDAD MARÍTIMA (SASEMAR), responsible for the project “VRT4PORTS”, subsidized by the Ports 4.0 Fund of Puertos del Estado, has carried out the final demonstration of the project which has taken place in the facilities of the Jovellanos Center of SASEMAR in Gijón. The test has been attended by the people in charge of Innovation of Puertos del Estado, together with the people in charge of the project on behalf of each member of the group.

The objective of the project is to develop and commercialize a platform offering immersive training environments, based on Virtual Reality, specifically designed for the logistics-port sector. This platform allows to simulate critical operations such as shipping maneuvers and spill management in a safe environment, offering companies and organizations in the maritime-port sector to benefit from the potential offered by virtual reality technologies to improve their training processes, as well as their operations and production processes.

Unlike traditional training models, VRT4PORTS significantly eliminates the logistical barriers and costs associated with physical infrastructure and travel. Thanks to its modular and scalable architecture, each port or training center can adapt the scenarios to its specific needs.

The platform is compatible with both virtual reality devices and conventional computer equipment, allowing it to be deployed without requiring high technological investments. In addition, it incorporates an authoring tool that facilitates the creation, parameterization and updating of new scenarios and training exercises, integrating a wide range of variables.

After the presentation on the characteristics and particularities of the project implementation, a demonstration of the VRT4PORTS solution was carried out, during which fundamental elements of the project, such as the operation of the platform, were tested.
