The consortium comprising 5G COMMUNICATIONS FOR FUTURE INDUSTRY VERTICALS S.L., ADVANCED ALGORITHMS 4 RADAR, S.L. and FUNDACI\u00d3N VALENCIAPORT\u2014responsible for the \u201c5G RADAR FOR SMART TRANSPORT\u201d project, funded by the Puertos 4.0 Fund of Puertos del Estado\u2014has conducted the final demonstration of the project, which took place at the Port of Valencia. The test was attended by the head of the Innovation Division, as well as the head of the Innovation Project Monitoring Department and officials from the Audit and Internal Control Division, along with the project leaders from each member of the consortium. <\/p>\n

The project aims to modernize transportation and mobility in ports by combining various advanced technologies, such as 5G, high-precision radar, artificial intelligence, and digital models that enable real-time simulation of operations. In practice, the goal is to develop an intelligent system capable of collecting information from the environment, processing it instantly, and improving safety and efficiency in port logistics areas. Among its main applications are real-time assistance with vessel docking and automatic control of vehicle and ship movements within the port environment. <\/p>\n

To this end, the beneficiary organization has completely upgraded the system, both in terms of the physical equipment and the software that powers it. As part of this effort, several of its components have been redesigned, and artificial intelligence has been incorporated to analyze information in real time. In addition, the solution has been installed and tested at the Port of Valencia, where it has been connected to 5G networks and advanced digital tools that allow operations to be simulated and monitored in real time. <\/p>\n

Specifically, the project has made it possible to deploy a network of radar systems at strategic locations throughout the Port of Valencia to support both docking maneuvers and the management of land and maritime traffic. Radar units have been installed at the Perfecto Palacio Pier, the north and south access points, the north access tunnel, and the harbor mouth, with the goal of improving real-time monitoring, safety, and the automation of operations. This has helped verify that the system functions correctly in a real-world port environment. <\/p>\n

Following the presentation on the characteristics and specific aspects of the project’s implementation, a tour was conducted of the radar systems installed at the Port of Valencia.<\/p>\n

The solution is fully developed and ready for market launch.<\/p>\n
